School is in Session
We experiences schools of MULLET as they came into Charlotte Harbour on Pine Island. Over half the Mullet caught on the west coast of Florida come from Charlotte Harbour. They are vegetarians so save your shrimp bait and try using bread or corn meal balls.

Hidden Gem
On the northern tip of Pine Island there is hidden paradise. It is a tiny island called Bokeelia which is accessed by a small bridge. It is a quiet, laid back community where you can spend your days watching for dolphins in Charlotte Harbour.

Roots
It is a wonder how the exposed roots of this Mysore Fig tree at the Henry Ford's Winter Estate in Fort Myers Florida have weathered the test of time.

Royal Palms
An estimated 1,800 palm trees line the street and give Fort Myers the
nickname "City of Palms.'' Many of the original palm trees were brought
to the town from Cuba by inventor Thomas Edison, whose winter estate -
along with that of Henry Ford - is located along McGregor Boulevard.

Mysore Fig
This massive tree is located in the west gardens along the Caloosahatchee River at Henry Ford's winter estate in Fort Myers Florida. It is 102 feet tall, 305 inches in circumference.

Banyan Tree
This tree was given to Thomas Edison in 1925 by Harvey Firestone
and was only 4 feet tall at the time. Thomas Edison experimented with
different trees and plants for use as rubber and filaments. It is the oldest Banyan tree in North America.

The Science is in!
During WWI the price of rubber rose dramatically. Thomas Edison, Henry
Ford and Harvey Firestone were concern with this national issue. Edison
planned to discover a domestic source of rubber from a latex producing plant. They experiments with Goldenrod. Today the Laboratory is filled
with original apparatus and equipments that Edison used to conduct his rubber
research.

Ibis
This entourage of Ibis paced up and down our dock like they owned the yard. They are a very social bird and the flock is never more than a few decimetres away from each other.
