Morning Dew
Good morning sunflower. It is a beautiful day. The sky is a distinct shade of azure and the cool breeze blows your hair around as you search the skies for scattered clouds.

Life was so easy, swinging under a tree,
Things from long ago,
things we all know,
memories of the past,
that passed by too fast...
Spinning and turning,
on an old tire swing,
things we all know,
memories of the past,
that passed by too fast...
Spinning and turning,
on an old tire swing,

Bond Dog
The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is one of the smallest dogs in the herding group and this little fellow does a good job rounding up his family and will seek the attention of everyone he meets. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are famed for being the preferred breed of Queen Elizabeth ll and were featured in the London 2012 Olympics opening ceremony.

Male Plumage
The male peacock tail contains spectacular beauty because of the brilliant, iridescent, diversified, colorful eye patterns. Researchers found that the feathers' bright colors are produced not by
pigments, but rather by tiny, intricate two-dimensional crystal-like
structures. Slight alterations in the spacing of these microscopic
structures cause different wavelengths of light to be filtered and
reflected, creating the feathers' many different iridescent hues.

Sacred Lotus
This
is the supreme lotus, generally reserved for the highest
deity, it is
the lotus of the historical Buddha. Today was spent in meditation in amongst the beautiful lotus gardens at Keith Mcleans.

Presidential Bowl
Today after having lunch with my golfing friends at the Chilled Cork, we got the rare chance to tour the upper floors of The Retro Suites and saw the Presidential suite. This magnificent glass bowl was one of the many beautiful pieces adorning this suite.

Tiger's Roar
The Chatham Camera Club went to Rondeau Park for a walkabout. The beauty of the wild tiger lilies growing along the pathways caught my eye.

Castles in the Sand
I am sure we all remember with fondness the days of our youth filling
little colored buckets with sand to build sandcastles – until the coming tides came along and destroyed them. What
fun!

Farmers Feeding Families
The red wheat we grew this year is seed wheat. It will be sent to the grain elevator, stored and sold to be planted in the Fall. The next generation of wheat will be made into pastry flour. Proud to say we are FARMERS!

It is a Family Affair
Tom, Ed and Mike all working together in sync to take the crop off. We are so blessed to have family to help combine our bountiful crop.

Farmer's Delight
Today was the start of our seed wheat harvest and the fields were a buzz with activity. The temperatures have been hot this year and with the early planting season everything has ripened up bountifully. The day ended with a spectacular display of colour across the western sky. You know how the saying goes, "Red sky at night, Farmers delight"!

Vintage wheels, curb side at the Retro Suites Hotel.
I had a great day yesterday photographing some amazing cars, neon signs and architecture. You would never know you were in Chatham! These were the three choices I made to be entries in the Retro Suites Photo Contest.

Today I went on a photo shoot
Today I went on a photo shoot in downtown Chatham, Ontario. I entered a local photo competition hosted by The Retro Suites Hotel. An amazing collection of vintage automobiles owned by RM Auctions were brought in as eye candy. The goal was to accentuate the beauty and style of everything retro. We were to showcase the elegance, style and historic design features of some of the world's finest vintage automobiles from around the globe and to showcase the classic architectural design featured at the The Retro Suites Hotel and including historic neon signs.

Sun Spot
North America seems to be in a heat wave with temperatures soaring into the high 30s C. Today it was 35C/95F with a high humidex. The sun has been throwing out some pretty strong flares towards the earth. Hope everyone is drinking lots of water and applying the sun screen!

Tulip Tree Trail
In Japan, they call it
shinrin-yoku – literally, “forest bathing.” Here, we might just
call it a walk in the park. Either way, people around the world have an
intuitive sense of the restorative power of natural environments. Today Janet and I went out to Rondeau Park and took a dip, I mean a stroll and were revived.

Chippy
Ever since I put out a bird feeder the chipmunks have appeared. They are the quickest little thieves but so so cute. This one is forever tormenting the cat and one day we will find it as a present on our doorstep.
